Foi com prazer que vimos o Edifício MPA ser incluído no último roteiro da The Lusitan Architecture Experience, um programas de visitas técnicas guiadas de arquitectura, que nos últimos anos tem trazido milhares de profissionais estrangeiros a conhecer as obras emblemáticas da arquitectura portuguesa.

Hans Ola Boman, arquitecto sueco radicado em Portugal e mentor deste projecto de visitas guiadas, explicou recentemente a Alexandra Couto no suplemento Fugas do diário Público (Sábado, 1 de Setembro de 2012) que “Este é um tipo de turismo que tem muita procura na Suécia e na Alemanha, onde sempre houve a tradição de os gabinetes de arquitectura organizarem viagens periódicas a locais onde os seus colaboradores possam conhecer ‘o último grito’ em termos de construção.” Ainda nesse mesmo artigo considera que “A arquitectura portuguesa tem muita reputação internacional - sobretudo pela chamada Escola do Porto - e estes grupos querem que a visita seja orientada na sua própria língua, de preferência por um profissional da área que tenha trabalhado nos dois países, para saber abordar as características técnicas da obra e também as diferenças de contexto profissional e social.”

As imagens documentam a visita de um grupo de arquitectos suecos no passado sábado, 29 de Setembro. Nova visita acontecerá no próximo dia 5 de Outubro.

We are pleased to have seen the MPA building be included in the last route of The Lusitan Architecture Experience, a program of technical guided visits of architecture, which in recent years has brought thousands of foreign professionals to know the emblematic works of Portuguese architecture.

Hans Ola Boman, Swedish architect based in Portugal and mentor of this tours, explained recently to Alexandra Couto in Fugas, a saturday supplement of the portuguese Público newspaper (September 1, 2012) that "This is a type of tourism that is in high demand at Sweden and Germany, where there has always been the tradition of the architecture firms organize periodic trips to places where their employees can get to know 'the ultimate' in terms of construction." In the same article, he states that "the Portuguese architecture has a lot of international reputation - especially the so-called School of Porto - and these groups want the visit to be targeted in their own language, preferably by a professional who has worked in both countries, to address the technical knowledge of the work and also differences professional and social context."

The images document the visit of a group of Swedes architects past Saturday, September 29. New tour will take place on 5 October.
